BLACK HOLES
A film by NARINE MKRTCHYAN and ARSEN AZATYAN
BLACK HOLES
This film is about a friend of ours, a victim of Soviet regime. When a child, being very gifted in physics, he already had a few discoveries. Later, being considered by KGB one of the “suspects”, he was driven out from that area. As a result, he got mental disorder.
This material was very dear to us, as we were in the same emotional state, and in this case our desires coincided. We arranged it as if we where going to shoot a film on an extraordinary discovery by a scientist, and under that pretext we were enabled to get the possibility to shoot the film.
Naturally, as in the case of Bagatelle, it was destined not to be shown anywhere up to now. It was even forbidden to be shown on the Armenian TV. However, we were allowed to show it in the studio on unofficial terms. And Sergey Paradjanov, whose opinion was vitally important for us, was present at one of these unofficial showings that were for us very fortunate.
